Dr. Tim Baarslag from CWI (Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica) of the University of Amsterdam is doing research on the optimisation of our smart grid, within the consortium Gridfriends. In this edition of the Universiteit van Nederland he explains more about the phenomenon negotiation and how computers and algoritms can help humans with it.

Because we find negotiating hard to do. We have to keep in mind what we want ourselves, what we think the other party may want. And we have think strategically on how to proceed the negotiation process.
